Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Nanith's MP3 Player handles information when you use the Android application. Nanith's MP3 Player is a local music player designed to play audio files selected by the user from their device.

2. Audio files and local storage

The app allows you to select audio files using the Android system file picker. The app accesses files that you explicitly choose and may copy selected audio files into the application's private local storage so they can be managed and played by the app.

Nanith does not upload your selected audio files, playlists, favourites or listening history to Nanith servers. When a locally copied track is removed through the app, the app may also delete its private local copy.

3. Information stored on your device

To provide and restore app functionality, the app may store information locally on your device, including:

• playlist information and selected tracks;
• favourite tracks;
• the current track and playback position;
• equalizer preset;
• shuffle and repeat settings; and
• playlist sorting preferences.

This app data is used for player functionality and is not uploaded by Nanith to a Nanith account or cloud service.

4. Background playback and notifications

The app uses Android media playback functionality to continue audio playback while the app is in the background or while the device is locked. Android may display a media notification and lock-screen media controls containing information about the currently playing track.

Notification permission may be requested where required by Android. Notifications are used for media playback functionality and are not used by Nanith to send promotional push messages.

5. Advertising and third-party services

Nanith's MP3 Player uses Google Mobile Ads (Google AdMob) to display advertisements. The current app configuration requests non-personalized advertisements.

Google Mobile Ads and related Google services may automatically collect or process certain information in order to provide, secure, measure and operate advertising. Depending on the device, region and Google services, this may include information such as IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostic information, and information related to ad delivery and performance.

This third-party processing is governed by Google's own privacy policies and terms. Nanith does not sell users' personal information.

6. Data sharing

Nanith does not operate a server that receives your local audio files, playlists, favourites, playback position, equalizer settings, shuffle settings or repeat settings from Nanith's MP3 Player.

Information may be processed by Google Mobile Ads as described above for advertising, service operation, measurement, security and related purposes.

7. Data security

Audio files and player preferences managed directly by Nanith's MP3 Player are stored locally on the user's device. The app is designed to limit access to information needed for its functionality. Information processed independently by third-party services is protected according to those providers' security practices.

8. Data retention and deletion

Data stored directly by Nanith's MP3 Player remains on the device until it is removed through app functionality, the application's storage is cleared, or the application is uninstalled, subject to Android's own storage and backup behaviour.

Nanith's MP3 Player does not currently provide user accounts, so there is no Nanith cloud account associated with the app that needs to be deleted. Data independently processed by third-party services may be retained according to their respective policies.

9. Children's privacy

Nanith's MP3 Player is a general-purpose music player and is not specifically designed or directed toward children. Nanith does not knowingly collect children's personal information through its own servers via this app.

10. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application's features, permissions, third-party services or data-handling practices change. The date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy is revised.
